Children's Religious Education
The mission of the Children's Ministry is to eagerly assist families in teaching God’s love. We do this through Catholic teaching traditions of faith, prayer, sacramental preparation and forming a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Bring daily prayer into the lives of the children
- Teach respect for all God’s creations
- Prepare the children to live God’s call of glory in their daily lives
- Welcome all children into our community of faith
Pre-School through 5th grade – Sunday’s 10:30 am – 11:45 am
Spanish classes begin after 11:30am Mass
Grade 6 - Sunday's 10:30 am - 11:45 am. Students meet in the Saint Dominic Room to prepare for a contest of knowledge of the Catholic Church and Mass. Heritage Bowl is an exciting tournament like event that takes place in April. All students 5th grade on up are invited to join a team, participate in the Heritage Bowl and are also invited to the Heritage Bowl lock-in. Completed permission slips are required to spend the night in the parish hall.
April 25 and 26, 2015
Sacramental Preparations – Sacramental preparations begin at the age of discretion (usually 7 years old). The parish along with the parents will prepare children to receive First Reconciliation and Eucharist. A formation period of two years must be completed for a sufficient knowledge to understand the mystery of Christ and receive the Eucharist with faith and devotion.
A Parent Reconcilatiion/Confession Handbook is available upon request, this handbook contains information to enable the adult parent to hand on correct information on the Sacrament of Reconcilation to the child.
Non-baptized and uncatachized children of catechetical age will join the faith journey of RCIA.
