Congratulations to all our children making their first Holy Communion! Why is this day so special? Besides receiving the body and blood of our Lord, we may be tempted to allow the cute factor of this Sunday to overwhelm us.  We must remember that what makes this day incredibly special is that we are celebrating the children joining us at the altar.  We celebrate the first reception of communion, with the knowledge that this is the first of many in their lives.  So let us help and support them by making ourselves fully present to the Mystery we are all here to celebrate.
