This weekend in the Gospel, John the Baptist has been martyred. Jesus is now beginning his public ministry, calling on people to reform their lives. In order to get his message out to the people more effectively, he needed help. He begins to call his initial disciples. "Come after me and I will make you fishers of men." This call of Jesus continues. He still needs help in the vineyard.

What am I saying? I need help in the vineyard. This month we hired Deacon Jim McVeigh as our Pastoral Associate. He will be working with me part time in the office, working in pastoral care and pastoral programming. So let us pray for him and his work.
